Nyárádmagyarós lies on the upper course of the Nyárád – Niraj Valley, at a distance of 10 kilometres on the East of Nyárádszereda – Miercurea Nirajului, on the banks of the Kis-Nyárád – Niraj River, at the feet of the Bekecs (Bichis) mountain. Nyárádmagyarós is the administrative centre of Nyárádselye – Silea Nirajului and Torboszló – Torba.

As in the other settlements in this geographical area, most of the inhabitants deal with orcharding and animal husbandry.

 The three villages of the commune are famous for its orchards and fruit brandy.
